The Animal Store is Open

We’re open. We are taking conscientious precautions during the threat of the coronavirus (COVID-19). But we’re here every day, taking care of our animals. If you’re feeling a little stir crazy and looking for something fun and stress free to do, stop by the store.

Our Precautions

Here’s what we’re doing to keep our customers and employees safe:

  • disinfecting all surfaces daily, and common surfaces frequently throughout the day.
  • hand sanitizer is available for customer use.
  • greeting customers with a smile and warm welcome; not shaking hands is the new normal.
  • team members will stay home if they display any symptoms.

Coronavirus pet news

The latest information from world health experts is that there is no current evidence that people can contract the coronavirus from animals. There is limited evidence that animals can get the virus from humans. Here are the current recommendations from the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA):
“Out of an abundance of caution, it is recommended that those ill with COVID-19 limit contact with animals until more information is known about the virus. Have another member of your household take care of walking, feeding, and playing with your pet. If you have a service animal or you must care for your pet, then wear a face mask; don’t share food, kiss, or hug them; and wash your hands before and after any contact with them.”
