Red Head Opaline Lovebird

This Opaline Lovebird is a beautiful mutation of the Peach Faced lovebird. It’s brilliant hood, spring green plummage, and bright red beak make it a real standout. These charming birds are social and benefit from lots of enrichment, including plenty of play time and a variety of toys and chews.

English Budgies

The English Budgerigar (Budgie) is the larger cousins of American Budgerigars (also known as parakeets). They are 2-3 inches longer than parakeets, and weigh about twice as much. Budgies are available in a wide variety of colors and patterns. They look fluffier than parakeets and tend to have sweeter personalities if they are well socialized. These birds have been specifically bred as pets and are often show birds.

English Budgies live  about 7 to 9 years. These small parrots appreciate a generous cage and lots of enrichment to keep them happy and healthy. The Animal Store carries a wide variety of toys that will keep your bird busy. The more time you spend with your English Budgie, the happier it will be. They have calm personalities and can learn to talk quite well, making them fantastic family pets.

Our budgies, like all our young birds, are hand raised.

Senegal Parrot

Senegal Parrot — these pretty parrots grow to about 9″ long and can live to about 30 years when well cared for. You’ll recognize a Senegal by its intense yellow eyes with black pupils, grey heads, green throat and wings, and yellow chest. They are extremely playful and appreciate a lot of affection and attention. Some Senegals can learn to talk quite well, learning to mimic dozens of words.

This ringneck parrot (also known as a rose-winged parakeet) is an outgoing, often talkative pet. These beautiful birds are highly social and crave attention. They are playful and intelligent, and love to learn new tricks. Only the males have the telltale ring around the neck.

We love our ‘tiels. They are funny, lovable, and a great addition to any bird-loving family. For example, these fun little birds love to whistle and chirp. Pacific Parrotlet

The baby Pacific Parrotlet is a jewel-toned beauty. They are the world’s smallest parrots. Though tiny, they come with big personalities. They’re so small that they are sometimes called “pocket parrots,” but watch out for their strong beaks before you consider putting one in your pocket. They enjoy a large cage with tightly spaced bars and plenty of toys and treats for enrichment. They can be quite affectionate but require a lot of attention from their humans in order to thrive as healthy pets.

They are quite friendly, and humans have considered the canary a wonderful companion for hundreds of years.  A male canary will start practicing its pretty songs at about three months old, and both males and females enjoy a lot of attention. People who live in apartments or smaller homes appreciate canaries because they are among the quietest of our feathered friends

Though usually thought of as bright yellow, there are more than 200 varieties of canaries. They are all easy to care for and can live 10 to 14 years.
